Affecting Eternity...

"A teacher affects eternity;
no one can tell where his influence stops."

~ Henry Adams

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a sober reminder!
And how much more true is this for parents...
especially when the parent is the full-time teacher!
We are shaping and molding future adults,
parents, grandparents, etc...
We are greatly influencing their morals,
their character, their habits, their flaws,
their faith, and more...
which in turn, they will one day influence others...
and those others will influence even more others....
the timeline of influence is endless!
That is an extremely humbling thought...
My greatest prayer is that they will see Jesus in me
and that my influence will be an influence
that benefits them and others for eternity.
Below is a song that I sang
at my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary.
I pray that my children (and others) will, one day,
be able to say this about me...
"I Saw Jesus in You"
When I enter Heaven's glory, And I see my Savior's face,
I will offer Him ten thousand years of praise.
Then I'll find that special one,
In whose life I saw God's Son,
And thru tears of joy with trembling lips
these words I'll say:
I saw Jesus in you, I saw Jesus in you.
I could hear His voice in the words you said -
I saw Jesus in you.
In your eyes I saw His care,
I could see His love was there.
You were faithful, And I saw Jesus in you.
When I stand before my Father,
To receive my life's reward,
And my soul is bathed in God's eternal day,
When this race on earth is run,
And God sees the works I've done,
More that anything I long to hear my Father say:
I saw Jesus in you, I saw Jesus in you.
I could hear His voice in the words you said -
I saw Jesus in you.
In your eyes I saw His care,
I could see His love was there.
You were faithful, And I saw Jesus in you.
Mona ~ Thank you for your kind words. My grandparents are very special to me. They took us to church when we were children, among many other things. They made a wonderful difference in my life. The Lord used them greatly... and is still using them. *Ü*
