Sweet Smell of Sourdough...

This morning I baked the batch of sourdough
that I had let rise last night.

Ohhhhh, the aroma...
ever wish you could send a scent via internet?
I can't share the sweet, yummy smell

but I can share photos...

With one batch of dough

I was able to get these four loaves
(2 regular and 2 smaller ones).
Our family loves this type of bread!
It's hard to keep it around too long...
it tends to disappear.
We love using this dough with our
Friday Night Pizza, too. Mmmm!

I uploaded our recipe in a pdf file, long ago,
and thought I would share the link.
Sourdough Recipe

It may sound complicated but it really isn't.
It's well worth the minor investment of time and effort.
YUM!

"She looketh well to the ways of her household,
and eateth not the bread of idleness."
~ Proverbs 31:27

Oh my word. That brings back memories for me.

My family was very poor growing up. Our church used to bring us boxes of food at least once a month. A little lady named Mrs. Lewis would bring us 3-4 loaves of her freshly baked sourdough bread EVERY SINGLE Saturday. She was an angel straight from heaven. I still get teary eyed thinking about her.

I can't wait to see her again in heaven one day.

Thanks for sharing that. I love how the simplest things can take us back to a moment in time. ;)

Thanks for sharing. They look tastey. I have been wanting to make our own pizza. The one I tried I didn't like too much. I will try yours out. The pictures look great.
