Year End HomeSchool Review
~ Reflect ~
Reflect on this past school year...
How was my focus this year? Was I diligent?
Did our approach or curriculum work for us?
Did we honor God with our school year?
"Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts" ~ Psalm 139:23
"Examine yourselves..." ~ 2 Corinthians 13:5
~ Refrain ~
Refrain from being too hard on ourselves...
If we haven't completed all
that we wanted to do... relax!
Don't let end-of-the-year 'pressure'
to cause us to feel guilty, panic or stress.
"Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:6-7
~ Release ~
Release the guilt
of any failures to the Lord...
Seek forgiveness in prayer where needed
and don't dwell on the negative.
Dust off our knees and try again.
"For thou, Lord, art good,
and ready to forgive;
and plenteous in mercy
unto all them that call upon thee."
~ Psalm 86:5
" If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
~ 1 John 1:9
~ Rely ~
Rely on our Heavenly Father...
Seek Him always in our homeschool endeavors
and trust Him in His leading.
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths."
~ Proverbs 3:5-6
"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd:
he shall gather the lambs with his arm,
and carry them in his bosom,
and shall gently lead those that are with young."
~ Isaiah 40:11
~ Renew ~
Renew our homeschool vision...
Get refocused on the purpose of why
we chose to home educate our children.
"And these words,
which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children,
and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way,
and when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up."
~ Deuteronomy 6:6-7
(Also see Deuteronomy 11:18-21)
~ Repair ~
Repair the 'damage', if there is any.
If you feel it necessary,
use the summer months to
catch up on, complete, or complement
their education.
But go easy.
Ephesians 5:16a ~ "Redeeming the time..."
Colossians 4:5b ~ "redeeming the time."
~ Rejoice ~
Rejoice that we don't do this alone...
The Lord is our strength.
"...for the joy of the LORD
is your strength." ~ Nehemiah 8:10b
"But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint."
~ Isaiah 40:31
He will equip us!
"He doesn't call the qualified...
He qualifies the called."
"I will instruct thee
and teach thee in the way
which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye."
~ Psalm 32:8
"I can do all things through Christ
which strengtheneth me." ~ Philippians 4:13
~ Resolve ~
Resolve to make improvements
or changes where (and if) needed...
Pray for His guidance.
Be convinced and determined
in our hearts and minds...
and then do what we need to...
what He has for us to do.
"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,
do it with thy might..."
~ Ecclesiastes 9:10
~ Remember ~
Remember what has worked
and what hasn't.
Let's learn from our successes
and from our mistakes
and then press on.
"I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus."
~ Philippians 3:14
"Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour
is not in vain in the Lord."
~ 1 Corinthians 15:58

I think you should get an award for most encouraging blog! This was SO good and I will go back to read it again. My homeschool is a mess right now.
Kristi ~ I'm glad you liked it. ;o)
Tina ~ Thank you so much for your kind words. They are such a blessing to me. I hope this list is a blessing to you. I think we all get in times where we feel our homeschool is a mess. Praise the Lord each day is new and that we can tailor our home education to our family's personal needs.
