Kitchen Tip Tuesday...

Growing up, my mama didn't use knives,
very often, for cutting meat
and other miscellaneous items in the kitchen.
Instead, she used kitchen shears.

Her way of doing that in the kitchen has passed on to me.
Whenever possible, I use shears instead of a knife.
They come in quite handy
and aren't hard to find!

Well, that is certainly new to me. I have scissors in the kitchen, but I never thought of using shears for meat. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for participating! :)

I have a kitchen scissors, which I love, as well! I don't use mine for meat, but I use it to cut pizza, green onions, fresh herbs, etc... It's also great for cutting up my childrens' food at dinnertime! :)

that's interesting--I remember when I was a teen & at my friend-Kim's house that they cut their pizza and I found that unique and cool. :)

Ginny ~ It had never occurred to me to use them for meat either until I saw my mama doing it. I'm sure glad she did. It's much easier.

Rachel ~ I had a pair of KitchenAids but they seemed to have been misplaced in one of our moves. ;o) Thank you for your kind comment.

Tammy ~ Thanks for hosting this. I've enjoyed all of the tips. We use our scissors for cutting other things, too, especially pizza.

Brenda ~ It sure makes cutting pizza a lot easier, particularly at the ends where the crust it. *Ü*

Mrs. Brigham ~ Happy cutting! Thank you for visiting. ;o)

Christina,

Great kitchen tip! I love my kitchen shears and have used them to cut up chicken and other meats as well.

This is the first time at your blog and I love it! It is so encouraging to see a Christian military family who homeschools.

My brother is a Marine. I'm not sure where your husband is right now. My brother is in Iraq. It amazes me the strength the Lord must give you to have a spouse over there. I can't imagine.

The Lord bless you and keep you all.

Mrs. S ~ Those kitchen shears sure come in handy!
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your kind comment.
I thank your brother for his service. I know that Iraq is no easy duty. The Lord is my strength. I cannot imagine being a military wife without having the Lord so near.
