For the Love of Tea Giveaway

Ah... I love tea.
Growing up in the south,
I had such a love for iced sweet tea.

But, as an adult, I have developed
such a love for drinking hot tea
and, almost daily, tea times.

“There are few hours in life more agreeable
than the hour dedicated to the ceremony
known as afternoon tea”
Henry James

-------------------------------------------

I thought of what a delight it would be
to share my love for tea!

And what fun to do so with a giveaway!
(It's been a long time since I've had one of those!)

The Giveaway...

A box of one of my favorite teas
{which a friend and I fondly call a 'liquid hug'}...
Scripture Tea's Chai Green Tea
and
a homemade tea wallet

To Enter:

*Just leave a comment here
with a way to contact you*

*Due to this being lightweight,
I am willing to ship overseas. :)

and shared on

Today's Special...

We are really enjoying our new magnetic dry erase board,
which has a happy home on our refrigerator door...

The children love to look at it throughout the day,
anticipating the evening's meal.
Daddy, too, enjoys knowing what "today's special" is.

Thrift Store Art Finds...

What a delight is was to find these art prints
at a local thrift store last week...

Victorian Garden by T.C. Chiu, matted and framed ($10)
I just love the whole mood in this picture...
enjoying the beauty of God's creation with a dear loved one.

Two of Robert Furber's
"The Twelve Months of the Year in Flowers", 1732 ($3)

October

July

The children and I cleaned them up today
and hung them on the wall.
I just love how Fruber identifies
the different varieties of flowers.
What a joy to look at his beautiful illustrations
and learn the names of those beauties.

It had been quite some time since I had last
done a little thrift shopping.
I, also, picked up quite a few board games
for 75 cents a piece.
One of them was the "Worst Case Scenerio Game"
that I have contemplated getting for some time.
We look forward to enjoying those as a family, too!

Responding to Inquiries...

Over the past
few weeks,
I have had a few

miscellaneous inquiries.
My responding

time has been
limited so I
would like to

respond to a
few of the inquiries
in one post. ;o)

If you have asked a question
and I have not responded here, please forgive me.
Please be assured
that is in unintentional.
Please feel free to ask, again, if necessary.
Thank you for understanding. ;o)

Please note that these are in no particular order.

Mrs. Melody inquired:
I'm interested in what radio station you listen to?
Do they have online streaming?

We listen to
FBN Radio and, yes,
they have online streaming! *Ü*
This station has been a real blessing to us,
as it provides wonderful, non-compromising,
fundamental, biblical preaching and programs
and godly, conservative music.

Kristine inquired:
Where did you guys get that three wheeled bicycle?

We, actually, got
our three wheeled bicycle
from my grandmother some years ago.
However, the children and I have spotted them
in certain "super" stores recently.
You can, also, order
similar ones online. *Ü*

Madeleine and Stacy inquired:
I have been enjoying your from the sofa segments.
Do you make them up yourself,

or do you have a program?
and
I was wondering what guide you use
or curriculum for your study of countries?

The resource we are using as our spine
in our geographical studies is Galloping the Globe.
It has been a helpful resource.
Though some of the books that are mentioned
in this resource are out-of-print
so I have been adding my own books here and there.
It's been a very enjoyable study for us and
we love focusing on missions as we study geography!

Thank you for the inquiries
and for understanding the busyness of a mama. ;o)
I hope to respond to a few others soon.

Have a wonderful week!

A Special Thank You...

Thank you, Mona, for your kind words
and for thinking of me...

"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."
~ Proverbs 16:24

It was asked to list six things I am thankful for,
which I'll do because it is always a blessing
to give thanks and praise to God! Ü
I am thankful for...
*Jesus Christ, God in the flesh,
dying on the cross for my sins,
providing a way for me to go to Heaven
and that one day He will return and reign!
*a Heavenly Father that hears, cares for,
and answers my prayers
*the Holy Spirit that indwells and teaches me
*God speaking to us through
His Perfect, Preserved Word {KJB}
*the body of Christ... like-minded brethren
that we can meet with, fellowship with, edify,
pray for and with, and worship God together
*the husband and the children that
God has blessed me with
and how He uses them to teach me

"By him therefore let us offer
the sacrifice of praise to God continually,
that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."
~ Hebrews 13:15

"I will bless the LORD at all times:
his praise shall continually be in my mouth."
~ Psalm 34:1

New Year Fun...

Kelli is hosting her "New Year Fun", again.
I enjoyed participating last year
so I went through my archives to do it, again.
(It's always so hard to pick one photo, though!)

Post the first sentence of your first blog post of each month.
You can also add a favorite picture from each month.

~ January ~

I hope y'all are enjoying the new year! ;o)

~ February ~

It happened! Praise the Lord, it happened!
After 12 months, 3 weeks,
misunderstandings, unexpected delays,
and a couple of hours in the hanger, Daddy and family
were reunited around 4:30/5:00 am Thursday morning!

~ March ~

Good morning!

~ April ~

It was a beautiful (and wet) day today. ;o)

~ May ~

I love Mondays! Yes, I really do.

~ June ~

How do I know when it's been too long since I've last blogged?

~ July ~

It's been a week and a half since my last post.

~ August ~

Things sure haven't slowed down for us
and I've neglected my blog terribly but it has been
a worthwhile absence as I have been spending time
with my family and allowing the Lord to carry me
through some spiritual growing pains, which, as I obey Him,
not only benefit me but my family, as well.

~ September ~

Though it's not officially autumn, yet, the month
of September has begun with wonderful signs of its coming!

~ October ~

Mid 60's, foggy, overcast sky today...
Anicipation of cooler temps, warm sweaters,
crunchy leaves and changing colors, early nights,
cool breezes, and warm, creamy tea...
Joyfully welcoming October!

~ November ~

Outside my Window... the sun is up,
the sky is bright blue, and there's a little chill in the air

~ December ~

Outside my window... it's a beautiful 53 degrees,
the sun is brightly shining, and the wind is blowing

A Special Thank You...

I discovered yesterday that our Haven at Home was nominated

at Homeschool Blog Awards for Best Homeschool Blog Mom.
I wanted to thank those that,
unknowingly to me, nominated me
and have voted for our blog.
Not seeking
the praise of man,
but it is a blessing to know

that our Haven at Home
is a blessing to others.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness

and for your kindness!

May He be uplifted & always be first.

"...that in all things he might have the preeminence."

Mmmm... Tea

I have only recently developed a liking for tea.
As a matter of fact,
so far I only really like chai green tea (spiced)
but I am occasionally trying new teas
and aquiring a taste for some of them.
So when I saw that Mrs. U was having a tea giveaway,
I was eager to sign up for the possibility
to try more tea and to enjoy a flavor I already love.
If you love tea, want to love tea,
or even if you never really cared about tea...
a chance to try it for free may peak your interest. ;o)

A Little, Friendly Thank You...

Just a special thank you to Jen,
who passed this along to me...

Thank you, Jen.
Your kind words and thoughtfulness were a blessing.

sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."
