Growing Older Gracefully...

I do not mind growing older gracefully.
In fact, I somewhat look forward to it.
The silver/gray hair

that I will encounter does not frighten me. lol

"The hoary (gray/silver) head
is a crown of glory,
if it be found in the way of righteousness."
~ Proverbs 16:31

However, having a birthday

does provoke me to evaluate
what I have done with the past
thirty-plus years of my life
and what I can strive for
the thirty-plus years to come (Lord willing).
Below are a few Scriptures that
I like to meditate on...

"Examine me, O LORD, and prove me;
try my reins and my heart."
~ Psalm 26:2

"Examine yourselves,
whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves."

~ 2 Corninthians 13:5

"...reaching forth unto those things
which are before,
I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus."
~ Philippians 3:13b-14

Also, something I do every year

on my birthday is thank my mother...
In a world and time

that is self-serving and self-seeking....
Thank you, Mom,

for sacrificing all you did
to birth me and raise me.
Thank you for all of the time, effort,

and love that you have given me
(and still do).
This is her birth-day.

The day she gave birth to her first born.
And I honor her in celebrating this day.

Without her, there would be no me.
I love you, Mom.

Cristina ~ Thank you for your kind words. And thank you so much for visiting! *Ü*

Connie ~ Thank you. I surely am thankful for my mama. I know she feels that she may not have done her best but I am thankful she loved me, trained me, nurtured me, and, above all, prayed for me.

Karen ~ Thank you, also. The Lord blessed me with my mama. I've learned more from her than she'll ever know this side of Heaven.
