Thursday's Thrifting...

I mentioned in yesterday's post
that we would be spending the day with Gramma...
We did and we had a great time.
We decided to go thrifting, again.
I know I just posted about thrifting a few days ago
and I, honestly, do not go thrifting very often
but since Mama is here
it's been so enjoyable going with her.
We have a local thrift store
that is pretty large
and we spent quite some time in there.
But we came out with lots of lovely finds.

I always love when I'm able to find books to bring home...

Among this collection were books like
New Illustrated Encyclopedia of Gardening
The Kingfisher Book of The Ancient World
Dorling Kindersley's First Aid for Children Fast
LIFE's World Library: Greece
The Life of Prairies and Plains
Books on the Civil War, World War 1, and World War 2
The Writings of Jonathan Swift
David Copperfield and A Tale of Two Cities

by Charles Dickens
Eighteenth-Century English Verse
Washington Goes to War
The White House: An Historic Guide
Peterson's Field Guide to Western Birds
and a few others.
Also, Ally found a few books that she posted about.

I also picked up these items below...

Also these...

On the left is a napkin holder

(which my beloved will be thankful for...
he made a comment some time ago about not having one);
a mantle clock (the face is cross-stitched
using Roman numerals);
a note box (something I had never seen before,
but interested me.)

I also got these...

They are individual pieces.

I was also able to find this set of dishes...

I will be using the tea cups

for our upcoming ladies' tea fellowship.
I'll likely be using them as centerpieces on the tables.

We really had a great time.
The children loved being able to sit and read through
many books while we were there.
I'll likely be putting away my 'thrifting shoes' for a while
but I am thankful for the finds
we were able to bring home.
Hmmm...
now I need another bookshelf!

Hope y'all enjoyed your day!

Those are great finds. We also enjoy finding books and games at thrift stores and garage sales.

Thank you for congratulating me on my blog! How is Ally doing? Still praying here for her.

oh such nice finds! Great stuff for you kiddies to enjoy!

I really enjoyed reading your Wed. post about the Dr. visit and your heart to heart with your precious daughter. They grow up so fast! I have a 20 year old son, and sometimes when he is home, we find ourselves separated from the rest of the family having one of those! I love them!

Hi there! Wow, I do love thrift shopping, you've been doing a great job! I'm jealous.

Ralph has been putting tile in my restroom floor and around the tub. We will finally paint it too! Vintage green.

Praying for Ally's results, what did you find about natural remedies?

Love the Lord, Lisa

Urailak ~ Ally has good days and not-so-good days. Thank you so much for your prayers and concern. Your daughter's letters encourage her.

Pam ~ They sure do grow up so fast! What precious times to spend with your adult son. I look forward to those times, as well.

Lisa ~ Wish you could have gone, too. I don't think we ever did go thrifting together. I'm glad to her Ralph has had time to spend on the house. I'd love to see photos. Praying for y'all. Thank you for praying for Ally. We are still looking in to the natural remedies. I'll try to share in a post. Miss y'all.

Have a blessed week, ladies ~
Christina
