Tuesday's Tidbits...

I didn't have time to share our day yesterday
but wanted to share some photos of our visit to the beach.

Last year, at our previous station,
we enjoyed a lot of
beachschooling.
The beach we had there was a natural beach
with lots and lots to learn from.
Since we've moved here,
we've only visited the beach once or twice, perhaps.
This beach is mostly for swimming
and we avoid it during its busy season.

But since the local schools and such
have started back up we decided to give it a try
and the children were thrilled when we announced
that we were going to the ocean with friends. ;o)

On our way, we decided to pick up lunch
and then enjoyed our lunch
at the picnic tables when we arrived...

Afterwards, they were eager to go enjoy the water...

Carolynne is intimidated by the ocean
so she would not go without holding a hand
which is okay... ;o) and Ally was happy to oblige...

Will and Beth enjoyed the fun...

Ally was eager to borrow some clothes from her friends
and join in the fun, too.
Here they are having fun...

Beth liked to run from the waves...

Will really enjoyed himself, too...

It was a real blessing to see Ally having so much fun, too...

She posted more photos on her
blog entry. ;o)

Carolynne had fun, too,
and started getting a little braver
towards the end of our visit...

It was a delightful and exhausting time. ;o)

Here were some views of the ocean... such beauty!

After the beach, we came home and took baths.
Then we left to vacuum all of the sand out of the van
and treated ourselves to supper out. ;o)

Today we've been trying to pick up the house,
catch up on laundry (including the sandy items),
catch up on emails, make misellaneous appointments, etc...

Now we're off to make an 'extra supper'
for a couple that has been visiting our church...
they just had their first baby.
I can't wait to see the precious one.

Then we look forward to being in God's house
and with God's people.

Hope y'all are enjoying your week.

It looks like everyone enjoyed time at the ocean. We never did get down to the beach last time we were there. We plan to mid-September.
How sweet of you to make a meal for the new parents. Our Sunday School classes did that when all our girls were born, each taking one night for a week, and it was such a blessing. So nice to completely concentrate on adjustments and loving on the new little one. Not to mention, recovering from giving birth!

Beautiful pictures, it was such a nice day for the beach! Your camera really took nice pictures, the ocean looks really blue in all the pictures. I can tell y'all had a blast. That was sweet of you to take dinner to the new parents, I'm sure they appreciate it so much with everything going on with a new little one. **I don't blame you for wanting to go see it:)**

Hi! I found your blog through the "Practical Homeschooling" magazine. I really love your beautiful and modest posts! I also want to say how awesome it is that you are a military mom. I respect and admire all mothers and wives who support their husbands overseas; you are my heroes and role models!

May God bless you and yours,
Jennifer

Tracy ~ Yes, it was a wonderful day. And I thought the water was quite warm though Ally disagrees. But I wasn't soaked in it like she was. ;o)

Karen ~ Everyone surely did enjoy it. Hopefully the water will still be warm when y'all visit this way and hopefully you'll get to visit the beach. ;o)
Providing meals is something I have always seen done in my life. When I was younger, my mom had a kidney transplant and the church brought meals to us then. It was a blessing to us. After the birth of our youngest two, we received meals, also. What a blessing that was! I am thankful to be in a church that has a heart to do that, as well.
How wonderful that y'all had that blessing, too.

Chyrll ~ Thank you. We did have a wonderful time. ;o)

Mrs. Bowman ~ Yes, it was lots of fun. I was so glad to see Ally was feeling well enough to enjoy herself, too. ;o)

Dina ~ lol My children thought they were pretty big, too. They certainly were fun. ;o)

Bren ~ I really liked that picture, too. She really was having a wonderful time... all of them were. I'm sure Dad will enjoy seeing them. ;o)

Christie ~ Thank you. We thought the water looked pretty blue, too.
It was a real blessing to be able to take supper to the new mom and dad... and, of course, to see the new baby. ;o) She was so precious!

Marci ~ Thank you. We did have lots of fun.
And thank you for the comment about Ally. I am so thankful for what the Lord has been doing in her life and what He continues to do. Being on our knees in prayer for our children truly is SO important. ;o)

Mommy ~ I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm so bad at ordering prints. I will try to order some soon and I'll email some to you, too. I love you! ;o)

Jennifer ~ Thank you for visiting! And thank you for your kind and encouraging words. They were a blessing to me.
Also, thank you for mentioning how you found out about my blog.

Kelli ~ Thank you for joining us. ;o) Hope you had fun, too.

Looks like so much fun!

Our church ladies make meals for new mother's, also for ladies who have had surgery or hospital stays, and a new thing we started this year is there are two elderly ladies in our church so the ladies on a rotation make them a meal and spend at least an hour visiting with them.

When I had my children our church did not do the meals, but since I have had a couple surgeries and I know it is SUCH a blessing to have people who care enough to help with making meals

Have a wonderful weekend!

I linked to your site through a comment you made on modesty on another site... regarding "modest" swimwear.

These pictures show modesty at the beach... it's not conditional!

Lovely photos. I look forward to getting to know you more through your photos and blog.
