Tuesday's Tidbits...

Today I was able to catch up (a little)
on some paper work, bills, phone calls,
making a menu and a grocery list,
washing our colonial clothes for tomorrow,
and running a couple of errands.
We were excited today to, finally, get our window fixed!
Woo hoo! Now we can get back to watching
the birds in our backyard better!
Also, today we were able to visit
a new-to-me thrift store.
I found a couple of things there
that I hope to share on Friday. ;o)

Here are a couple of photos of the children today...

Ally enjoyed playing piano
(which I always enjoy, too)...

The children were very eager to play
with their toys in water,
so I filled up a bowl with water for each of them...

Tomorrow we plan to take a mini-trip to visit
a place that will be having a dramatic reading
of The Declaration of Independence
(colonial style)!
We are excited to attend (in our colonial clothes)!
Then in the evening we will be at church

for our mid-week Bible study and prayer service.
What a wonderful day to celebrate our freedom
by being in God's house
(Who is the Giver of all freedom)!

Hi...I am always so inspired when I read your posts. I wonder how you manage to stay so upbeat with your husband away. How do you manage to keep everyone so happy? I don't mean to sound weird, but I WANT this joy you have. It seems like I am just surviving to get through the day. I hate to admit it, but most of the time I am LIVING for my hubby to get home so I can have a break. I don't want to have this kind of attitude. Again, I want this SERENITY that you send out on your blog. You are a blessing to me! ~Holly

Holly ~ Thank you for your kinds words. There was a time when I really struggled with joy. I suppose the turning point was when I learned the secret of dying to myself daily and believing that everything I do is truly for the Lord. There is great joy in knowing that we are serving our Saviour. If He is not our Saviour, that is the very first place to start. We can never truly have joy or peace without His complete forgiveness and knowing Him as our personal Saviour. Staying in His Word daily is a key, too.
There are many posts that I have written (listed in my sidebar) of things that I have done and do, perhaps they may be helpful, too. But nothing is possible without the Lord and, at the same time, nothing is impossible with Him.
I am praying for you.
