Birthday Dresses...

Finished! I was able to completely finish
the birthday sewing projects.

As a preface, I'll begin with last week...

Mommy: "Beth, is there anything particular
that you would like for your birthday?"

Beth: (thinking)"Mmm... no. I like anything."
(thinking, again)"Mmm... a dress! A pink one!"

The next day, we went to our local supercenter
to pick out the fabric for Beth's pink birthday dress.
When she found the fabric she liked,
she and Carolynne noticed some blue fabric
of the same print.
Carolynne: "I want a blue dress."
Beth: "Yeah! Can Carolynne have a blue one, too,

for my birthday and I'll have a pink one?"

That was precious to this mama.
Beth wanted Carolynne to have
a 'birthday dress', too, for Beth's birthday.
Their sweet relationship just melts my heart.
(they do get their "off" days, too, by the way) ;o)

Here they were today, trying on their new dresses
(they wanted to wear them to church this evening)...

Pink and blue sweeties
('cotton candy' colors, as Ally says)

I, also, made Beth a pink pinafore

to go over her new dress.
Carolynne already had a white one...

They were tickled!

(and so was I)

(pattern used was Simplicity 8690)

Your little girls are just so precious! And their new dresses are just so sweet! You are such a talented seamstress. I wish I could sew like that. I just love reading about you and your sweet family. I am still just amazed and inspired by how you are able to keep on without your husband at home. You have such strength. You are really blessed. ~Holly

Julie ~ Great to hear from you! I'm so glad whatever the trouble was with visiting seems to have subsided. yea!
I never could sew, either, by the way. About 6 years ago, I learned of the necessity to learn to sew because of our particular dress standards and preferences so my beloved let me take a sewing class at a,then, local sewing store. I was SO glad I did. Everything else has been learned from trial and error. ;o) I do love to sew, though. ;o)

Amy ~ Thank you. ;o) And happy birthday to your sister. I'm sure it will be a special day.
