Week End Review...

Wow! Our week has flown by!
Somehow the week got away from me
and I didn't even post. ;o)
We've been spending the week
doing a variety of miscellaneous things...
grocery shopping, Christmas shopping,
trips to the post office, library, etc...
getting our home cleaning caught up
to prepare to begin our 'schedule' next week,
spending quality time together,
among other things that slip my mind.
When weeks fly by... it is okay with us...
that just means the time that Daddy will be home
is getting closer and closer!
(really excited, inner and some outer giggles!)

Here are a few tidbits from our week...

Beth and Carolynne were tickled when they found
a 'How to Draw...' book.
They eagerly worked on their masterpieces,
which I thought were so precious ...

Will has enjoyed a lot of reading this week
and working on his math...

Ally worked on some of her academics, a sewing project,
and, of course, her music (which we love to hear)...

On Friday, we had a homeschool park day.
It was a bit chilly but the children were glad

to be outdoors to play...

LOL

Also, Friday afternoon, we had our "Friday Friends" over.
The mamas enjoy fellowshipping as the children play.
Interestingly, I caught Ally and her friend

reading on the couch.
It wasn't the fact that they were reading aloud together...
it was the book they were reading...

It was a BOB book.
If you aren't familiar with BOB books,
they are early phonetic readers.
I got them out recently to begin using with Beth
and the older girls saw them sitting there
and just couldn't resist. lol

This morning, we headed to the church
to help decorate for tomorrow's special service...

Afterwards, we ran a couple of errands and came home.
This evening, after putting the younger ones to bed,
we began working on our food for tomorrow's fellowship...

Ally working on the 'doubled' eggs
and her friend helping with dough for Challah.

Frosting the snowman cake for the girls.

Can't forget the hat...

Braiding the Challah bread...

Adding the "snow" to the snowman...

Working in the kitchen together...

The girls and their finished Snowman Cake...

Our finished Challah...

oooh... the house smells delicious!

We sure look forward to our Pig Pickin' tomorrow. ;o)

Monday we begin our 'schedule', Lord willing,
but I do hope to find some time to respond to comments. ;o)

I hope y'all have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow!
I sure am thankful we have a Heavenly Father
that hears and answers our prayers!
He's been showing me some very obvious answers
to some specific prayers lately.
What a joyous blessing it has been!
God is so Good!

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee,
and shew thee great and mighty things,
which thou knowest not."
~ Jeremiah 33:3

"O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him."
~ Psalm 34:8

Oh my. I am about to ask a dumb question, but what on earth is a Pig Pickin' ???

It sounds kind of.....funnish? lol.

The challah bread looks delicious!! I have never made it, but I can imagine the wonderful smell it would leave in the house!!I should find myself a recipe and make some!!

I have MOTH. I really need to sit down and do it, and then commit to following it through, I used to be so good at this time thing. No more. Now I hope I can get everythong done in my disorderly way. I don't want to do that anymore. I will pull out my book again and just do it.

Have a beautiful Lord's Day!!

Your updates are always so refreshing and inspiring :D I enjoy your blog so much.

Love the cake! I made a "Death Star" cake for A's last birthday that was a sphere, it was fun and a neat challenge. :) I even found gray frosting!

We also have "Friday friends". We went over to their house on Friday to decorate gingerbread cookies. :) I also recognize the BOB books. :O

I was thinking of your husband when I posted that video today...I pray the Lord continues to keep him safe and that the weeks will continue to pass quickly until he is home. God bless you and yours!

I LOVE the SNOWMAN CAKE!!! :OP

He's so cute. I'm sure it felt terrible serving him up.

May I ask, what was the snow made of?

Blessings,

Tracy ~ We enjoy our kitchen projects, too. Thank you. We did have a wonderful Lord's Day. ;o)

Madeleine ~ That's not a dumb question, at all. I thought about posting a link but if you do a search online you'll get a few links to look at. Basically, it is a fellowship where you have a whole cooked pig. Many times the pig is cooked there but our church ordered one. ;o) It was lots of fun but we think all fellowships are fun. ;o)
I had never made challah bread before either. It did smell absolutely delicious, though! Tasted good, too. ;o) I linked to the recipe if you want to try it.
I, too, have struggled over and over with committing to any kind of schedule/routine. I am thankful the Lord is faithful in working on me and that He gives His grace and strength to follow through. ;o)

Tammy ~ Thank you. It was delicious. ;o) Thank you for sharing your recipe. Your site is such a wonderful place to visit...full of ideas.
Though I cannot disclose the exact date, my beloved will be home in the month of January, Lord willing. We are very excited!! ;o)
Thank you so much for visiting and for your kind words. They were a blessing. ;o)

Mrs. T ~ Aw, thank you. I'm so glad you enjoy visiting. It's a blessing to hear.
The cake you made sounds a little complicated. How neat you were able to find grey frosting. Doing the sphere for the snowman was challenging, too, but fun. ;o)
What a blessing to have Friday friends. We have enjoyed this tradition for quite a few years now. How fun to make gingerbread cookies. I have never tried them... I know I should. ;o)
Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers. They are appreciated so much!

Dawn ~ Thank you. We love homemade bread, too. Thank you for visiting, again. It was good to hear from you. ;o)

Momofmhasr ~ We did have a wonderful week. Praise the Lord! And, yes, we are very excited about Daddy's return!! Thank you so much for your prayers. They are such a blessing to me/us.

Mommy ~ Sorry I haven't been posting lots of pics lately. ;o) I'll aim to be more faithful. ;o) I love and miss you, Mama!

Suwei ~ Yes, Ally wasn't thrilled about serving her snowman cake. ;o)
The 'snow' was shredded coconut. He was quite yummy and we'll be eating the leftovers for the next week! lol

Trish ~ Hello there! So glad you found me. ;o) I saw your request and it's all set up. Thank you for your prayers. They sure are appreciated. ;o)

I wanted to share that is wonderful to see your pictures of your girls modestly dressed. I don't find too many families in our area and wanted to say thank you for not making me feel alone.

We've made Challah many times and hopefully are working it into a weekly blessing time. Your loaves turned out beautiful.

I'm not sure what I clicked on to visit your post ;)

Have a blessed evening!
~Tamara
