Something we have grown to enjoy on the days that we have
our homeschool group park day is to arrive early for nature study.
It has been a delight to see the children filling their nature journals
with beauties from God's creation that He has blessed us with...
This past Friday, the children decided to walk with their journals
to search for something to sketch instead of using the picnic tables...
We love to bring along a few field guides and our copy of
Anna Botsford Comstock's Handbook of Nature Study!
What a wealth of information and ideas!
Also, last week, Beth had her first violin lesson.
She is learning with Suzuki method and began by learning
the proper way to hold the violin, bow, etc...
then began learning to play variations of Twinkle Little Star.
In addition to learning to play the violin, her instructor
will be giving various assignments learning about composers,
which will go along wonderfully with my plans
to do composer studies this year!
It sure was bittersweet, though, sitting there
watching her learn to play the violin. They sure do grow fast!

What a blessing to have the joy of you sharing your adorable daughters, Christine. And to watching them grow into beautiful vessels for our precious Lord and Saviour.
many thanks
Congratulations to Beth! I know how your feel, I was just thinking last night how Amber has been taking lessons for going on her 9th year this year and wondering how much longer we should go on. She still enjoys it, but perhaps this should be her last year.? I'm not seeing your photos this morning - will have to try back later. Glad you are having some good nature/park days.
what a wonderful blessing :-)
I love to see children grew in love to the Lord.
Beth looks like she's been playing for awhile with the confident way she holds that instrument! :)
