Learning Violin...

About three weeks ago, our 6 year old daughter, Beth,
began taking violin lessons.
This week she attended her first master's class.
Master's class is, basically, when all of the students
gather together to play pieces that they've been learning.
It is a casual gathering of performance
to help them prepare for recital.
She was a little afraid and it was a wonderful opportunity
to help her learn how to overcome fear. ;o)
I thought she did quite well.
Here she was playing a Twinkle variation with
her teacher and a friend of mine
that is, also, taking lessons.

I'm glad you posted this--love the pictures. So cute! :) "Master Class" is (later) also when a small group of highly accomplished students (3 or 4) are nominated to participate in a one-time lesson with (oftentimes) a world-class professional. The class is conducted in front of a public audience. Fifi has attended two and hopes someday to be a nominated student musician.
