Simple Woman's Daybook ~ October 5, 2009

For today... October 5, 2009

Outside my window...

the sky is changing from darkness to blue,
a chilly autumn air seeps through my windows,
and the birds are singing their early morning praises

I am thinking...

how Good God is,
how "Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and to day, and for ever." Hebrews 13:8

I am thankful for...

the Lord's help, strength, and grace

From the learning rooms...
being students of God's Word in Proverbs and Joshua;
learning of Ancient Greece and continuing studies
in our other subjects, as well

From the kitchen...
most of the dishes are clean from the weekend
but a little more tidying is needed

On the Menu...
M ~ eating out at Zaxby's as we travel
T ~ Taco Tuesday
W ~ Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Th ~ Shepherd's Pie
F ~ Sourdough pizza

I am wearing...
blue striped jumper with white collar shirt

I am creating...
a baby gift for a friend at church
and dresses for the lil' girls, if time

I am reading...
my KJ Bible through in a year,

currently in 2 King, Psalms, Romans;

the book of Job with my husband;
A Wife After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George;
A Woman's Walk With God by Elizabeth George;
When Women Walk Alone by Cindi McMenamin;
For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn;
Won By One: A Workbook on Personal Soul Winning
by Clarence Sexton
Order in the Court by Sherry Hutson Camperson;
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey;

A Charlotte Mason Companion by Karen Andreola;
(with a friend aloud) Parents and Children by Charlotte M Mason;

I am hoping (praying)...

for the LORD to continuing doing what I can not...
work in the minds and the hearts of the ones I love

I am hearing...

sounds from the monitor as the children sleep

One of my favorite things...
that I have a Friend in Jesus,
that He cares for me,
and I can take everything to Him in prayer

A few plans for the rest of the week...
attend a conference by the Maxwell's (from Titus2.com);
take Ally to the chiropractor;
attend our midweek prayer and Bible service;
rejoice with a friend that her husband
will be home from Iraq this week (!);
go to Beth's violin lesson

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth."
~ Psalm 121:1-2

Praise HIM for such a wonderful promise!

I love the collage in your header and the quilt background you did for Star. I'm wondering how to do that.

You have so many books you're reading. How do you keep them separated.
Enjoy your week.

Hi Christina,
I like how you put it, "the birds are singing their early morning praises." What a sweet song of praise it is too. Except our song birds have for the most part headed south.

Your reading list seems to keep growing :). And Oh, the Maxwells, I just love them. That is neat that you will be able to attend a conference. I got to hear them at our homeschool conf. a couple of years ago and just love everything they have to share. Have a great time!

Have a Blessed Week!
