Simple Woman's Daybook... October 19, 2009

For today... October 19, 2009

Outside my window...
it's cold and bright

I am thinking...
of Pastor's message yesterday morning,
about our position and privilege
of intercessory prayer

I am thankful for...
that privilege of prayer
and that we serve an Almighty, Loving God
that we can trust, hope in, and depend on

I am wearing...
sleepytime attire

I am remembering...
the answers to prayer the LORD has provided lately

I am going...
to pray for my neighbor this week

I am reading...
my KJ Bible through in a year,
currently in 1 Chronicles, Proverbs, 1 Corinthians;
the book of Job with my husband;
A Wife After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George;
A Woman's Walk With God by Elizabeth George;
When Women Walk Alone by Cindi McMenamin;
For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn;
Order in the Court by Sherry Hutson Camperson;
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey;
A Charlotte Mason Companion by Karen Andreola;
Keeping Our Children's Hearts by Steve and Teri Maxwell
Choosing Gratitude by Nancy Leigh DeMoss

I am hoping (praying)...
for the Holy Spirit's continued work
in the hearts of the ones I love

On my mind...
preparations that need to be made
for a baby shower at church this weekend

From the learning rooms...
being students of God's Word in John and Judges;
continuing memorization of Joshua 22:5;
learning of Ancient Greece; composer study Mozart;
and continuing studies in our other subjects, as well

Noticing that...
our home needs a blessing {cleaning} after the weekend

Pondering these words...
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,
as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
Colossians 3:23

From the kitchen...
some tidying up is needed from the weekend

On the Menu...
M ~ Italian chicken & pasta
T ~ Taco Tuesday
W ~ Chili and cornbread
Th ~ Homemade Chicken Pot Pie
F ~ Sourdough Pizza
S ~ Brats on the grill
Sun ~ Loaded Potato Soup and biscuits

Around the house...
the little girls are coloring, son is reading,
eldest is waking, dog is watching the world outside

I am creating...
more Scripture prints for my etsy shop;
dresses for the lil' girls
or, possibly, baby shower prizes

I am hearing...
the sound of coloring; the heater blowing

One of my favorite things...
the blessing of cool, crisp air
and wearing sweaters

A few plans for the rest of the week...
plan, prepare, and shop for upcoming baby shower;
possible tea with a friend; lessons with the children;
midweek prayer and Bible service;
Beth's violin lessons; use our new treadmill (!);
enjoy living, loving, laughing, and learning with my family.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion,
and gracious, longsuffering,
and plenteous in mercy and truth."
Psalm 86:15

What a wonderful God we serve!

Good morning Christina! First, please allow me to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog. But for some reason, I don't get "updates" on your blog on MY blog. MOST of the blogs I follow are listed on my blog but for some reason, yours and a few others are on my profile page instead. I never look at my profile...I already know enough about ME!
Anyway, I hope you don't mind, but I dropped an email to the Maxwells and Sarah answered back to me since I had mentioned FINALLY being able to see them and hear them sing because of your post!
She wanted to see it as well so I told her your blog address. I hope you don't mind!!! Sarah answered back that her family remembered YOUR family and that you were very sweet!
Just thought that that might encourage you today!
Blessings!
In His Love,
Beth

Katy-Anne ~ Thank you very much! What a blessing! *Ü*

Mrs. Momma ~ Thank you! I hope you have a lovely week, too.

Doylene ~ Yes, prayer has been on my mind much lately as the Lord continually reveals to me that it is HE that can change hearts. ;o) I hope you have a great week, as well.

Beth ~ Thank you for sharing the link with Sarah. And thank you for sharing with me. It was an encouragement, indeed! Their family was a real blessing to us and we just loved fellowshipping so late into the night with them. We do our best fellowshipping "after hours" sometimes. ;o)

Mrs. Cuddles ~ Thank you. ;o) I hope your week is going well.

PlainJane ~ We, too, have Scripture throughout the house and love it. I plan to add hymns, too. We just love hymns! ;o) Have a wonderful week. ;o)
