Simple Woman's Daybook... October 12, 2009

For today... October 12, 2009

Outside my window...
it's cool and gray

I am thinking...
of what this upcoming week holds

I am thankful for...
how it's the Holy Spirit that works in hearts

I am wearing...
blue print jumper with ruffle and a white shirt

I am remembering...
how the Lord has not only saved my soul from Hell
but how He has saved me from myself,
my 'old' life and my sin

I am going...
to some friend's house today to grill out
and enjoy likeminded fellowship

I am reading...
my KJ Bible through in a year,
currently in 1 Chronicles, Psalms, Romans;
the book of Job with my husband;
A Wife After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George;
A Woman's Walk With God by Elizabeth George;
When Women Walk Alone by Cindi McMenamin;
For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn;
Order in the Court by Sherry Hutson Camperson;
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey;
A Charlotte Mason Companion by Karen Andreola;
Keeping Our Children's Hearts by Steve and Teri Maxwell

I am hoping (praying)...
for the LORD to continuing doing what I can not...
work in the minds and the hearts of the ones I love;

for my brother's wife and her family
as they lost her stepdad this past week to cancer

On my mind...
being sure to do the things I know that I need to do
in my family and home to truly make it a haven

From the learning rooms...
being students of God's Word in John and Judges;
learning of Ancient Greece and continuing studies
in our other subjects, as well

Noticing that...
life is short and our time is valuable,
I need to be using it wisely

Pondering these words...
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
Matthew 11:29

From the kitchen...
some tidying up is needed from the weekend

On the Menu...
M ~ grilling out
then a new menu is needed

Around the house...
the children are playing, Daddy is sleeping in,
and all is cozy and home-like

I am creating...
a baby gift for a friend at church
and dresses for the lil' girls, if time

I am hearing...
the younger children play in the living room

One of my favorite things...
that I have a Friend in Jesus,
that He cares for me,
and I can take everything to Him in prayer

A few plans for the rest of the week...
spend Columbus Day with friends from church;
work on my sewing projects; focus on homeschool;
work at consistency with our schedule;
attend our midweek prayer and Bible service;
go to Beth's violin lessons,
and enjoy our homeschool group park day

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand forever."
~ Isaiah 40:8

Praise God for such a promise
and that we know we can trust His Word!

Wow, you have a lot of books on your reading list! :-) I've read a few of them, and they're good. I'll have to look for some of the others that you mentioned.

Happy Monday. :-)

One of my favorite things is getting together with like-minded people. It's so peaceful.
I've read the Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey and am in the process of making over our finances the Dave Ramsey way.
Thank you for sharing your daybook.

I remember studying A Wife After God's Own Heart in a small group setting, what a blessing it was! We also did A Woman After God's Own Heart. Elizabeth George is a wonderful writer. I enjoy her books very much.

Have a blessed week.

One More Equals Four ~ Thank you. We did have a great time! We even played badmitton, a game of spoons, and Dutch Blitz!

Mama Bear ~ Thank you. Lord willing, we'll have a lovely week, indeed. ;o)

Daddy's Chick's ~ You're welcome. That verse is a tremendous blessing and reminder to me.

Tammy ~ I like to read a variety of books at a time. Some of them I have read quite some time ago but many of them are new to me. I'm enjoying each of them.

Kim ~ I, too, love fellowshipping with like-minded believer. It is such a blessing! In addition to reading Dave Ramsey's book, we, too, are aiming to become debt free. This has so far proved to be very challenging but we look forward to the overall outcome.

Debbi ~ Thank you for your kind words. They were a great blessing.

Arlene ~ I really enjoyed her Woman's After God's Own Heart and led a Bible study in my home quite a few years ago using it. This is my first time through the wife book and I am really enjoying it.

Susan B ~ Thank you for visiting with me. I, too, enjoy reading some of her books. ;o)

Mrs. Cuddles ~ Thank you. So glad to hear from you. I look forward to visiting with you soon.

PlainJane ~ Thank you! I hope you have a good week as well.
