Pickin' and Jammin'...

Monday we went on a field trip to a local strawberry farm.
This is our third year to go strawberry pickin'

and have learned that we absolutely love it.
Last year, we began a new tradition of jamming

some of our berries, which is a lot of fun, as well. ;o)

I had a little time to spend online
and wanted to share some moments from our day of pickin'...

Carolynne and Beth ready to pick

On the hunt

Enjoying the fruit of their labors

.
Will searching for strawberries

Enjoying the fruit of his labor

Ally searching with a friend...

Enjoying the pickin'

Enjoying the fruit of her labors, too.

Beth going to search with Ally

Will and Carolynne enjoy some together

Calling it a day ;o)

We enjoyed snacking on the delicious strawberries this week,
along with some Cool Whip, too. Mmmm!
We've, also, been enjoying our homemade jam
(which we look forward to sharing with others)...
It's a little less solid/spreadable than last year
but we are enjoying it as a wonderful dipping sauce, as well!

"O taste and see that the LORD is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him."
~ Psalm 34:8

Sweet pictures!

We did that trip last week. Papa was TAD, though, and wants to go strawberry picking, too, so I think we'll be heading back next week!

Your pictures are always fun, but WOW! these are spectacular! Did you get a new camera? So crisp and clear; maybe it's the vivid colors of the out-of-doors and good lighting?

Tracy ~ Thank you! It was a great day.

Shannon ~ We hope to go, again, next week, too. We've already eaten the rest of our berries and would love to have more! ;o)
What a blessing that your beloved wants to go with you. I'm sure that will make for a wonderful time.

Deby ~ Thank you! It was a great time together. ;o) I thought the jars were too pretty to open, too, but then we tasted the jam and it was worth it. ;o)

Grafted Branch ~ Thank you! I did not get a new camera. I do think that much of it was the lighting outside. However, I must confess that a few of them I did give a color boost while playing around with them at Flickr (in our sidebar). ;o)

Michelle ~ Yes, it was a wonderful time and the children did have lots of fun! I think it tastes better when we work for the berries. ;o)

Tori ~ Yes, yes! Send me your addy. ;o) We'd love to send you some!

Adorable pictures!!! Yummy post! I love the little girls prairie dresses & pinafores - and Will's stain-concealing outfit. :) Berry farms aren't open around here until the end of July/first of August I think. Friday I will post a picture of a strawberry pyramid that my dh made me this year - but the berries have a way to go. :) We hope to make jam this year too - can't wait.

We went last week, too! We sure missed Dad this year (deployed), but still managed to pick 17 lbs. Not too shabby for a tired old mommy, a 7 YO, a 4 YO, a 20 month old, and a 4 month old! :) Your girls look so cute in their pinafores!

Hello, it's been a while since i wrote a comment, needless to say that at times I do not know how the day is already over. Such a blessing to be able to go strawberry picking. I simply love strawberries and so does my daughter, unfortunately my son seems far from interested in trying fruit :(. Great photos and as always I find reading your posts of great encouragement. thanks for sharing all these lovely photos with us. I also must add that the photos you've taken of your children for the yearly school/grade photo are brilliant well done.

What sweet pictures! Thank you for sharing!
Everyone seems to have had a good time! What a blessing!

I have never picked anything as far as things growing...lol...but hopefully all that will change once we move and get settled.
I'll have to learn all about gardening, planting fruits and veggies, soil, all kinds of stuff but I can't wait.

Love the girls dresses and pinafores!! By any chance do you make them in adult sizes???? Wondering minds would like to know ;)

I hope you and your family have a super blessed Memorial Day weekend coming up!

God be with you!
Dawn
