Simple Woman's Daybook ~ November 16, 2009

For today... November 16, 2009

Outside my window...
it is dark but the sky is beginning to brighten
as the sun begins to rise

I am thinking...
of the Truths from yesterday's sermons

I am thankful for...
the blessings of friends and likeminded fellowship;
that I have both in my pastor's wife;
for the encouragement the LORD sends us,
just when we need it

I am wearing...
sleepytime attire at present

I am remembering...
to trust the Lord
and to choose gratitude

I am going...
to enjoy a cup of coffee
while reading God's Word

I am reading...
my KJ Bible through in a year,
currently in Ezra, Ecclesiastes, 2 Corinthians;
the book of Job with my husband;
A Wife After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George;
A Woman's Walk With God by Elizabeth George;
When Women Walk Alone by Cindi McMenamin;
For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn;
Order in the Court by Sherry Hutson Camperson;
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey;
A Charlotte Mason Companion by Karen Andreola;
Keeping Our Children's Hearts by Steve and Teri Maxwell
How to Be Happy by Leon F. Maurer (added to my list last week)
Choosing Gratitude by Nancy Leigh DeMoss

I am hoping (praying)...
for the Holy Spirit's continued work
in the hearts of the ones I love;
for those friends/family that I have
that still need to accept Christ as their Savior;
for my mama's upcoming surgery this week

On my mind...
the love of God

From the learning rooms...
being students of God's Word in John and Judges;
review our memory verse in Joshua 22:5;
learning of Ancient Greece; composer study Mozart;
and continuing studies in our other subjects

Noticing that...
the Lord answers prayer,
even prayers from years ago

Pondering these words...
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself,
is not puffed up," ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4

From the kitchen...
dishes are washed from the weekend
and the smell of coffee beckons me

On the Menu...
M ~ Tacos
T ~ Chicken Pot Pie {homemade}
W ~ Potato Soup
Th ~ Ground turkey and rice casserole
F ~ Sourdough Pizza
S ~ Daddy grills
Sun ~ Chicken Noodle Soup {homemade}

Around the house...
the children still sleep soundly

I am creating...
nothing, at present,
but will hopefully choose a project soon

I am hearing...
silent noises from the monitor;
cars driving by outside, likely on their way to work

One of my favorite things...
spending a couple of hours at church
after the service, enjoying fellowship
with dear friends and brethren in Christ

A few plans for the rest of the week...
go to Beth's violin master's class;
clean the church; attend our midweek service;
go to our homeschool group's park day;
get some 'schooling' done

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~ Romans 8:38-39

Praise God for such a blessed promise!

How do you read so many books at one time? My mind would spin to have that many books going! :-)
