Simple Woman's Daybook...

For today... March 23, 2009

Outside my window...
the sky is growing bright blue
and there is a still coolness

I am thinking...
how different it is to wake up
and not have coffee

I am thankful for...
God's perfect, Holy, inspired, preserved Word
and for His Holy Spirit

From the learning rooms...
continue with our Proverbs study,
learning about Ancient Egypt and India,
and other miscellaneous seatwork

From the kitchen...
dishes from the weekend wait to be washed
On the menu...
M ~ Taco Rice Tacos
T ~ Lasagna
W ~ Green bean casserole bake
Th ~ Stir fry
F ~ Sourdough Pizza

I am wearing...
white and floral print square neck dress

I am creating...
continuing white regency dress when I have time
and finishing another prairie pinafore for my nieces

I am reading...
Numbers, Psalms, and Luke {KJB};
Passionate Housewives Desperate for God;
God's Ideal Woman

I am hoping (praying)...
the Lord will give me victory in giving up coffee;
for family and friends with spiritual needs;
revival in my heart, in my family,
in our church, and in our country

I am hearing...
the heater blowing, the monitor humming,
and Beth spinning on a stool at the table

Around the house...
everyone else is asleep and
a house blessing (cleaning) is needed

One of my favorite things...
being in God's house whenever the doors are open

A few plans for the rest of the week...
go to piano lessons that Ally teaches,
attend our midweek service at church,
focus on some learning and some sewing,
and have a little fellowshipping with friends.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"Create in my a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me." ~ Psalm 51:10

May it be our daily prayer

Good Morning Christina, Wishing you a good day! We are having Lasagna on Tuesday too, lol. I wish you the best on going off coffee - I've never liked coffee, but I should give up sugar (sigh).

Have a wonderful week!

Good evening, I'm late getting around to reading, trying to scrub my kitchen from top to bottom. You inspire me to look to the Lord more and more. Thank you.

Oh lovely!

You are giving up coffee?

I started drinking coffee at about 5 years old. That is just normal is latin american countries. It's as common if not more so, than water. ( which is probably one of the many reasons we are all short.)

I quit cold turkey at 21.

I haven't had coffee is 20 years, not even a drop. My husband drinks it, so I make it for him every morning. There is never a temptation. I always feel bad to people who are trying to stop.

I will be praying for you for victory in this.

Christina, I just quit drinking coffee too - on the 10th of this month. It does make the morning go a little differently, doesn't it?

I suffered with a severe headache for about 36 hours, then I was told to drink lots of water. That really helped and the headache went away and hasn't returned, praise the Lord!

I do still miss it, and the smell of it drives me insane. But I FEEL so much better knowing I'm not addicted to something! : )

For whatever your reasons are, I wish you success.

I just put on a pot of coffee. I only drink about a cup three times a week. I wouldn't have trouble giving it up. I pray you will be successful at it. I need to give up sugar. That is something that will be hard for me. God bless, Doylene
