Bug, Bug, Go Away...

... Don't Come Back Another Day

There's a stomach bug visiting our house.
It began with Beth on Friday night and Saturday.
It continued with Will on Monday night and Tuesday.
And it continues today with Ally.
No fever, no sniffles, no ear aches, no coughs...
But lots of reappearing meals!

What a blessing it is when children are well
and it is not necessary to clean vomit
from beds, floors, walls, clothing, toys, and faces.
What a blessing it is when linens are freshly washed,
after spraying the vomit from them with the outside hose.
Better days are coming...
and we look forward to them. ;o)

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved,
bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind,
meekness, longsuffering" ~ Colossians 3:12

Hi Christina,
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that the flu bug has hit your home - no fun for mom either. I have such a weak stomach when it comes to things like that - but it seems like a mom can endure anything when it's our own children.

One of the BEST tips of advice that I ever got in that regard was from an old country doctor that I saw once when I was in my early 20's (ancient history) when I had the flu so bad that my body got in a cycle and wouldn't keep anything down - for nearly a month. He simply said to drink Gatorade and take Dramimine (the travel sickness pills). I did that and within just a couple of hours I was keeping food down again, regaining my strength & got better. I do that all the time now whenever any of us starts getting the flu and it works wonders. The Gatorade keeps keeps them hydrated and the Dramimine keeps the internal dizziness or whatever at bay so we don't vomit.

I just heard last night that a friend came down with it Tue. night too - so I think the flu season is coming upon us too.

Take care!!!

Thank you, ladies. I'm trying to keep up with disinfecting things and am praying that helps, too.

Thank you, Plain Jane, for the tip. Ally just mentioned the Gatorade last night (she read it in one of her medical books. We'll see how she feels today. ;o)

Mom & Dad ~ We're praying this sickness is well gone before our visit. We are excited, too, and look forward to spending time with y'all. And have I mentioned that I just love seeing your names together, again? Ü
Love y'all!

Praying for quick relief, Christine. Stomach bugs are the shortest lived bugs that seem to last forever!

I always dread them at my house. Only one of my children always makes it to the bathroom. One of them usually makes it. The baby...well... It's bad enough when you have to clean the walls, floors, beds, etc. What I really loathe is when they get sick in the car seat!

Oh, wow. I hope it passes quickly. That's just one of those things you can't stop in it's tracks.

I'll say a prayer for y'all.
