Life has been busy lately
as we have been moving into our new home,
unpacking the vast amount of boxes,
getting to know new people
and become familiar with new places.
It has been an adventure, to be sure!
Last week, we were able to take a break
from all of the unpacking
and enjoy some time at a park...
That same day,
we drove a few minutes more to another park
to meet some of our church family
and a visiting mission team...
There was beautiful architecture along the way...
At the park, the mission team gathered
children from the park to share a puppet show
and Bible story with them...
One of the men, was making balloon animals and such
and giving them to the children in the park
(including ours)...
Many were passing out tracts, too,
and speaking to them about the Gospel.
It was a blessing to be involved.
Also, last week, we did our grocery shopping
at the commissary, stocking our pantry and freezer,
which made for a long trip to the store
but it was such a blessing to do so!
Friday was shared with a couple from church.
They came to our home for sourdough pizza
and we enjoyed fellowshipping all evening. ;o)
On Saturday, we took a trip to the county fair.
A lady at church had blessed us with free tickets.
We were very thankful and glad
to accept her gift of love.
She had a quilting display there,
which was so great to see!
The day we went, they had quilt pieces
for the Quilts of Valor,
which sews patriotic quilts
and gives them to wounded servicemen.
The quilt pieces had been made by locals
and donated to make new quilts...
Another fun display was the one of cakes!
In addition to various displays,
we enjoyed seeing the different animals at the fair...
And I couldn't resist
getting my picture taken with this
very large California avocado! ;o)
It was nice to see this at the fair, too!
Lastly, before we left the fair,
we each went on one ride.
The younger ones and I rode one together...
Then Daddy and Ally rode one together...
We had a nice time together as a family
and were very thankful for it
but were glad to leave the busyness behind
and return to our haven at home. ;o)
"I will extol thee, my God, O king;
and I will bless thy name for ever and ever."

Wow, it looks like you guys are really getting acclimated to your new surroundings fast! How nice to even be able to go to the county fair already. Fun photos!!! I am so happy for all the blessings you guys have received these past weeks!
Oh what fun! So nice to see you exploring and finding the little gems hidden in the business of the city. The 2nd park is a great place to share the gospel ... it is a place in desperate need of Jesus Christ, as is the whole city. Aren't the buildings and sights so different from the east coast and midwest? Amazing to look at God's art.
Hi Dear Friend,
It looks like everyone had a wonderful time. Your little ones are so cute.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
What a beautiful post!! The fair looked great! Your family is such a blessing to me.
So glad you were able to find like minded people there already! How did you do that so quickly??
The one thing I loved about CA was their produce!! Avacadoes...life is good!!
I am so thankful that you all are settling in so well. Looks like much fun was had. Praying for you still and always.
Love the pics. The display of the quilts and cakes were amazing.
Lots of fun in these pics!
