Growing Old Gracefully

Adding another year!

I do not mind growing older gracefully.
In fact, I somewhat look forward to it.
Minus the physical ailments that may follow.
The silver/gray hair that I will encounter does not frighten me.

"The hoary (gray/silver) head is a crown of glory,
if it be found in the way of righteousness."
~ Proverbs 16:31

However, being blessed with another birthday
does provoke me to evaluate what I have done
with the past thirty+ years of my life
and what I can strive for the thirty years to come (Lord willing).

Psalm 26:2 ~
"Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart."

2 Corinthians 13:5 ~
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves."

Philippians 3:13b-14 ~
"...reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

By God's grace and strength,
I pray I do more for HIM this year.

Also, something I do every year on my birthday
is thank my mother...

In a world and time that is
self-serving and self-seeking....

Thank you, Mom, for sacrificing
all that you did to birth me and raise me.

Thank you for all of the time, effort,
and love that you have given me
(and still do).

This is her birth-day.
The day she gave birth to her first born.

And I honor her in celebrating this day.
After all... Without her, there would be no me. ;o)

I love you, Mom.

"This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it."
~ Psalm 118:24

Happy Birthday! May God bless you each and everyday. We will pray for a fabulous sunny day there in CA with no "June gloom". May and June can tend to be gray skies in Southern CA and they have a saying, "May gray and June gloom." I remember thinking that no one ever shares that about sunny California in the travel brochures;) I sent you an email, please let me know if you received it. Blessings, Kimberly
