Haven at Home on Wheels... Days 27-30

We've been spending the past few days
getting familiar with our new home area surroundings.
I confess that moving to the city was not as appealing
as living a simple, country life
but, thankfully, HIS ways are not our ways. ;o)

And over the years, HE has taught me,
how to be content and make the best
out of where HE allows me to be.
It is an ongoing process but it does get easier
as I trust in HIM.

In addition, HE has shown me how HIS beautiful handiwork
is, truly, everywhere... as HE is everywhere.
And HE is continually opening my eyes,
as I look upon this great field of souls
needing to know the One True Saviour!

I am thankful where HE has brought us.

We've enjoyed seeing the beauty of our new city
as we've driven around the area...

A view of the great city overlooking the ocean

The beach at the Pacific Ocean

The bridge connecting the island and city

Mountain view as we head inland

The view at our campground

Over the weekend we enjoyed getting lost in our new big city,
looking at the local area, viewing potential houses,
and finding a new home church.

We have liked what we've seen in the area,
the weather is gorgeous, we found a home
that we are praying about, and the LORD
led us to a lovely group of fellow believers
that we spent all day Sunday with.
We are praying HIS will in all situations,
that HE will give us wisdom and guide us.

On Tuesday, we filled out an application for the house we like
and in the afternoon we enjoyed playing at the playground
at the campground we are staying at.

The children enjoyed playing on the slides, swings,
and playing tag with Daddy.
Ally and I enjoyed the beautiful view and wildlife,
watching the ducks and various birds that we need to identify.
Suzie, too, enjoyed the ducks... chasing them!
She even jumped into the lake after them.
She learned, then, that she could, indeed, doggie paddle. ;o)

We look forward to what the LORD has in store for us here,
knowing that we are in HIS will
and that HE has brought us here for HIS purpose.
What a wonderful Jehovah we serve!

"Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?
who is like thee, glorious in holiness,
fearful in praises, doing wonders?"
~ Exodus 15:11

I find larger cities a little overwhelming too. I did find, though, that you can learn the traffic patterns and congested areas and times, and try to avoid them whenever possible. Of course, you inevitably get "stuck" occasionally, but that's not so bad once in a while. :)

I'll be praying the Lord will strengthen your heart for dealing with the "bigness" of it! Your "gratitude attitude" is certainly the best place to start! :)

Hi Christina,
So glad to hear that you have made it safely to your destination. Praying with you that the Lord will bring you just the right house and you can be "home" soon. It certainly has been fun traveling with you and seeing sites I will probably never see in person. Happy to hear too that you were able to fellowship with a group of believers already too.

Love the pictures ... the bridge has an amazing view, doesn't it? My children always liked when the trucks would move the center cement barrier. It looks like the lil' truck is eating it and then spitting it back out one lane over. Have a great day! Kimberly

I love your blog posts, Christina. You always have the brightest outlooks on every situation.

The pictures were beautiful. I especially enjoyed the one of the campground. It looked so peaceful.

I know the Lord has some wonderful things in store for your family!
