Carolynne's birthday dress...

Jumper with attached ruffle

** edited to add**
I was asked if this was a pullover jumper
and what pattern I used.
I used Simplicity's #8340
children's jumper pattern.

I believe it is out-of-print now,
however, any jumper pattern can be used.
This pattern is NOT zipper free,
but I, also, did NOT use a zipper.
I fully lined the bodice (which I usually do)
and sewed the back up the middle
where the zipper was suppose to go.
Therefore, there is a seam in the back
but no zipper. ;o)
And it pulls over the head nicely.

Dress for Mama...

Square neck dress with ribbon waist

"She seeketh wool, and flax,
and worketh willingly with her hands."
~ Proverbs 31:13

"She layeth her hands to the spindle,
and her hands hold the distaff."
~ Proverbs 31:19

Is this a pullover jumper with no buttons or zippers? If so can you share where you got the pattern? This is the perfect pattern for my girls. Hard to find too!

Thanks

I have used this pattern for my 6 year old also. It is so easy. I found the pattern at a thrift store. I was only 25 cents. God is so good.

Stacy ~ I hope the information I added was helpful. ;o)

Mrs. U ~ Thank you. I understand about overcoming that fear. For years I didn't know how to sew but the necessity for us was too great so I had to learn. Now I love it. ;o)

Marci ~ Thank you! *Ü*

Claudia ~ Yes, this pattern is pretty easy. What a blessing you found it so inexpensively!

Mom ~ She does like it very much. ;o) lol I thought you might say something about me not being in my dress. I'll try to add me in the pic next time I sew for myself. ;o) Love you!

Tamara ~ Thank you! ;o)

Casey ~ Thank you, too. *Ü*

I thought I'd add a side note about the fabric for Carolynne's dress.
I've had that material for about 9 years or so. My aunt (who is with the Lord now) gave it to me in a box full of fabric, those many years ago. She loved cats, which is why there are cats in the print. I've been waiting to make something with that fabric and I thought Carolynne's dress would be perfect for it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Carolynne!!!! She is growing up so fast.

What beautiful dresses. Carolynne is such a cutie pie and your dress is beautiful. I look forward to seeing you wear it in an upcoming photo :). I know it can vary, but have you ever figured out about how much it costs you to make a dress?

What beautiful dresses! I love Carolynne's jumper - it's so precious! I'm just starting to get into sewing...I'm nowhere near as good at it as you are though! I'm sure I'll get better with time! What a blessing it is to make lovely things for the family! :-)
