Chicken Noodle Soup

Soup! Ah!
Nothing else need be said... :)

Chicken Noodle Soup

2-3 boneless chicken breast
1 onion, finely chopped
2-4 cloves garlic, peeled and diced
10 carrots, diced or 'sticked'
5 celery stalks, peeled and diced
10 cups liquid (water/broth)
1/4 cup olive oil
1 TBS tarragon
1 TBS basil
(a teaspoon or Tablespoon
of whatever seasons you like)
1 pkg (a few cups) uncooked favorite noodle

Combine in the crockpot
and cook until done. :)

I, many times, will allow my chicken
to cook in the liquid almost thoroughly
before adding other ingredients.

And, as with the beauty of soups,
there are many variations you can have.
You can add whatever veggies you like,
whatever seasonings you like,
whatever liquid you like,
whatever noodle, rice, starch you like.
It's your soup. ;o)
Enjoy!

Happy soup slurping!

Thank you for sharing your recipe. I've been looking for ways to cook lately with as little time as possible spent on my feet. Does the chicken go in the pot raw? Also, do you think it would work if I put rice in uncooked as well instead of noodles? How long does it usually take for yours to be done? I'm a novice at cooking from scratch.

Marlena ~ I would recommend cooking the chicken first. I usually cook the chicken in the crockpot the day before (put the crockpot in the fridge for the night) and then add the other ingredients the next day (this is usually our Shabbat supper). I found that the rice is better cooked first. If you add it to the crockpot, just add a couple more hours of cooking time for the rice to get cooked. :) If the chicken is cooked, I would let the soup cook in the crockpot a few hours on low. Hope that helps. :)
