Simple Woman's Daybook...

For today... May 11, 2009

Outside my window...

gray, overcasted sky...
drizzling has turned to rain

I am thinking...
of what needs to be done this week

I am thankful for...
the Lord blessing me and giving me
the ministry of motherhood
and how He used motherhood
to change my life completely

From the learning rooms...

History/Ancient Egypt through Exodus;
finish our study in Israel; nature study;
miscellaneous seatwork

From the kitchen...

Ally is giving a blessing {cleaning} by doing the dishes
On the Menu:
M~ Tacos
T ~ Chicken & Pasta with veggies
W ~ BBQ Sandwiches/baked potatoes
Th ~ Stir fry and brown rice
F ~ Church fellowship/couples night out

I am wearing...
dark blue/green checkered, collared neck dress

I am creating...

nothing right now... perhaps a new dress

I am reading...
my KJ Bible through in a year,

currently in Joshua, Psalms, Luke;
Pocketful of Pinecones by Karen Andreola;
Praying the Entire Bible for My Family by Joe Zichterman;
Holy Women by James Knox

I am hoping (praying)...

for the hearts of family and friends;
for out-of-state family to be able to
make it to Ally's graduation in a few weeks

I am hearing...

Ally doing dishes in the kitchen,
music playing from the cd player,
and the younger ones playing in the reading room

Around the house...
a blessing {cleaning} is needed
and Mount Washmore needs a chiseling

One of my favorite things...
singing and giving praise to God

A few plans for the rest of the week...

go to piano lessons that our eldest teaches;
go to post office to mail back our annual tests;
attend our midweek service;
enjoy our couples night out at church;
learn with and enjoy the children

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

"Let not the waterflood overflow me,
neither let the deep swallow me up,
and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good:
turn unto me according to the multitude
of thy tender mercies." ~ Psalm 69:15-16

Praise God in the midst of it all, He is there...
holding us up in His love and mercy!

I enjoyed reading your daybook entry! I would love to hear your input on Pocketful of Pinecones. I have it sitting on a shelf waiting to be read.

May your week be filled with lots of joy!

Karinann ~ Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for visiting with me. ;o)

Debbi ~ Thank you. This is one of my favorite songs and I love the arrangement. It calms me, too. Thank you for visiting. ;o)

Mrs. Cuddles ~ I am enjoying Pocketful of Pinecones VERY much. I borrowed it from a friend a year or so ago and never really read it and then borrowed it again a few weeks ago and finally committed myself to reading it. Don't let it sit on your shelf any longer. It's well worth the read. It has been a joy and blessing to see how she ties in nature study into her day and reading about her daily life, what she encounters with the children, how she deals with situations, etc... I've enjoyed it, though I'm kind of slowly going through it as it is my bedside book that I'm only reading at night, when I am able. But it inspired me to get those nature journals going. ;o)
