It expresses so graciously and perfectly what His Sabbath is all about and why it is forever. HalleluYah that He mercifully opened our eyes to the truth. I'm still humbled by the revelation. Thank you for your courage and obedience. We are similar, hinting with family and friends hoping not to offend or discourage independent research...

Fellowship seems to be a problem on the "narrow road". From reading just Scripture only, I see that new believers (gentiles) did not stay in their Greek or Roman temples still sacrificing to those gods and fellowshipping with their past 'pagan' associates, they went to the (Jewish?) synagogues because "Moses" i.e. Torah was read every Shabbat there. I am having a hard time finding just those who follow the Master and His Word and Way according to the Father.

Ruth - Your God will be my God, your people my people.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20003326.post-71189402595113089052011-02-28T11:54:36.189-08:002011-02-28T11:54:36.189-08:00Hello,

When I became observant, I was *all-in* and decided to tell the world. I had no idea the world wouldn't see what I had been shown in the Torah.

It was surprisingly shocking to me! As a result, my extended family rejects what I do. But, thanks be to Adonai, my husband and four children and I have been observant together for 14 years.

I wanted to comment on one post I read. The Hebrew word for "Keep" or "Remember" in some translations, is actually "Guard". It puts a whole new meaning on what to do for the Shabbat. We are to "guard" it. Guard it from what, you may ask? For me it's guarding it from the world!

In the beginning, it was hard to stop and rest for a whole day! Now, at the end of a long Preparation Day, I am so grateful for the gift Adonai gave us! The gift to rest with Him for a whole day!

I pray you find a fellowship with which to holy convocate. We have home-fellowshiped and been a part of a fellowship. We definitely prefer gathering with like-minded brethren and spend a whole day learning about the Torah and learning more about each other.

May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob continue to give you courage as He reveals you His Word to you.

Shalom,

TeresaCavender Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10155748207708842243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20003326.post-29176878450319116112011-02-26T08:38:08.922-08:002011-02-26T08:38:08.922-08:00Christina,

This was a very well written blog ...Hi Christina,

This was a very well written blog post and explains very well that the Sabbath is the same now as it was then, and as it will be in the future.

Here is a rather long answer (but certainly not all-encompassing) for those who were asking why people attack followers of Messiah who choose to walk out of step with the rest of the 'Christian World'....it is a knee jerk reaction which comes from being taught all one's believing life that that was then, this is now, and things are different now.

People who are taught this way can become VERY comfortable in their walk, and anything that makes them have to re-evaluate their lifestyle choices also makes them become UNcomfortable in the extreme.

I had questions along these lines since I was in Jr. High when at the behest of the youth staff, I read my Bible through....and when I looked around I found that what it said and what was taught at church were different. Asking did not go over well AT ALL. It took from there all the way through high school, college and 10 years of married life and homeschooling my oldest and looking at 2 more children coming up that I knew I would be answering for the things I taught them before I got the courage to go asking questions again. That was in 2003....

Also be aware that when one begins to ask questions....more questions will follow upon the answers of the original questions.

Blessings on you and yours,

Diane (Applegate) HaleyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20003326.post-27669165181298810852011-02-12T00:37:23.005-08:002011-02-12T00:37:23.005-08:00AMEN! :)AMEN! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20003326.post-64638146937407484452010-12-03T09:59:03.341-08:002010-12-03T09:59:03.341-08:00I had noticed your changes, and wanted to ask, but...I had noticed your changes, and wanted to ask, but didn't quite know how. While I do not observe a
7th day Sabbath, your references and points are all well written and I will have to study more on this topic. I want to follow Him in all I do and if He leads me to follow a 7th day Sabbath, I will obey. I do not understand why others would attack your beliefs, other professing Christians. The Messiah was full of love and He would not support all this division. We all need to support eachother on whatever phase of our journey we are on. Thank you for being so open and honest. What a blessing to a tool that He uses to bring people nearer to Him. :) Thank you for your encouragement (and your excitement!). It is a blessing.

Abrianna ~ Thank you for sharing that. Yes, it is a lot alike. I have seen (and can understand to some extent) how some are threatened. Thank you for your encouragement and admonition. He is my Strength! :)

Bren ~ Yes, it is hard to understand, in some ways. But I can see how there is fear of bondage and the fear of things that are not understood. Yes, we do all come to an understanding of Truth at different times. May we love one another regardless. ;) Thank you for your encouragement, as well. {{hugs}}

Lindsey ~ Thank you for your kind words. What an inspiring and uplifting post, ...Christina,

What an inspiring and uplifting post, my friend! I sort of guessed that you were honoring the Seventh Day Sabbath even though you had never shared that... This is a topic which has been on my heart on and off the past month or so as well. I have heard that many people honor the seventh day as the Sabbath as opposed to the first day, and I have started digging deeper into the scriptures to see what His Word says about this. I am still in prayer over this and look forward to seeing how He leads me. Regardless of how people feel about this subject, I believe the most important thing is to just obey His leading...

Thank you for opening my eyes further with His Truth! You are such a blessing to me, dear friend! Thank you for constantly being such an encouragement and challenging me (whether you're aware of it or not!)to grow deeper in my love for Him! :-) {Hugs!!}Lindseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09369119024804750693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20003326.post-57203421791368229042010-11-06T15:20:45.203-07:002010-11-06T15:20:45.203-07:00Thank you for your response Christina. ...Thank you for your response Christina. I can not fathom that myself. It is not like you are denying Christ....though that is what some are treated like. So sad. I pray you do not experience that for sharing this new revelation in your faith. We all come to the truth of the Word in different timing. Shabbat keeping is a lot like homeschooling. When you homeschool and keep Shabbat and others around you do not, they feel threatened by that choice. I do hope to share others, too, but am waiting for His timing. ;)
What is different, aside from it being the only day the Father commanded to keep, is that it is an entire day, set apart for Him. I am still learning here but I do try to not work (cook, clean, any laborious work) on that day and rest as He said. I, also, (personally) try not to do "my own pleasure" (as in one of the verses mentioned in the post). For instance, I do try to refrain from spending the whole day sewing, etc... Not because it may (or may not) be "wrong" but simply because I desire to honor Him by spending the day focused on Him.
This is not impossible, it just takes a little planning and preparation, which really isn't difficult either. I believe that gathering with like-minded believers and fellowshipping is good to do on His day, however, it has not been available to me, thus far. We have had some fellowship on Shabbat, but not with those that keep it. So far, I spend that day in more prayer, reading, studying, singing praise, enjoying time with my family, blessing, thanking, and worshipping Him.

Regarding my husband & my family, well, I will be a little more vague with this topic. ;) I will say this... our spiritual walks have always been in different places (one way or another) & I understand that in addition to being a wife, I am an individual that will one day stand before my Judge. Thus, I will obey where He reveals and provides a way. It is still possible to live in peace, love, and even unity when each person is in a different place in their relationship with the LORD. It is a lifetime lesson of love, mercy, and grace. ;o)HsKubeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12573406924326142245noreply@blogger.com
